Penang, Day 1

SO for my semester break, I had 2 trips! One which was Johor (mainly for work which I had already blogged) and my second one was Penang! Yay omg FOOODZ PARADISE on the way! Although, the saddest part of this trip was that my dad couldn't make it because of work. I mean, I don't know about you guys but I enjoy travelling with my family and without one of them, it feels incomplete HAHAHA. (Not to mention, my dad is a food lover which makes us (me & family) guilty that we are able to eat good food while he stays at home and eat with my brother and many other unisex siblings (fishes) LOL.

We travelled by car for about 4 hours or more including a few stops. Since I didn't get any picture at the last stop, here's a picture of Pei looking fashionably good in her outfit.

Our first stop (appetizer) at Penang was at this Asam Laksa stall under a huge tree. Stalls under huge trees gives me a cosy feeling LOL. I have no idea why.

Honestly, this Asam Laksa was (and still is) the BOMB. It was so good like omg `tears of joy. I have proof that it tastes as good as my opinion stated as you can see our faces from the picture HAHA.

They had Red Bean Tong Sui too. "Tong sui" is known as a kind of dessert.

This was by far the best Fried Chicken Wing I had ever eaten before. Just look at it! Can you feel the delicious taste and smell from this picture?!?!

My adorable aunt portraying the amount of "hotness" of that fried chicken HAHA.

In order for you to be able to taste such good food, this location sent by my sister was the closest clue I can give so I hope you'd be able to find it when you're in Penang!

Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim, Bayan Lepas
The back of the shop facing residential,
The front facing main road.

The next stop for breakfast was a hawker stall (non-halal) at;

Bayan Baru
Lorong Mashuri 3,
Corner lot hawker shop.

There were many stalls in Penang that you seldom noticed their shop names but remembered the places. I'm so sorry for not noticing their shop name. `sorrydonthatemeplease. `insertsmajorunltracryingface.

In this hawker stall, we had,

Chrysanthemum tea.

Fried Kuay Teow. It's really good though.

Popiah which was so-so only.

Asam Laksa again! HAHA. Although, this asam laksa tasted kind of sweet more than sour.

Okay, so mostly any food that we ate at the hawker stall/shop would be either fried kuay teow or asam laksa (mainly famous in Penang) AND if we had more choices then they must be famous in that shop. We good here? HAHA.

After a quite satisfying breakfast, we went to check in the house. This was basically a house (hotel) or maybe known as home stay if I'm not mistaken. Our aunt got us a house at a really great spot which was in Georgetown and there's so many coffee shops and stalls everywhere within walking distance that you can never die of hunger there HAHA.

I didn't get a photo of the outer view of the house but here's the interior,

And my sister seeing the map HAHA. Basically, the house was very old and well taken care of, as you can see many of their decorations and interior design was in the old days. Quite cosy and also gives you the antique feel.

Right after we settled down for a bit, my aunt asked if we wanted to visit the Interactive Museum and of course we went!

If you are wondering.. no this is not the interactive museum. It's an old building which really nice infrastructure and exterior design. Not to mention the really nice postbox there.

Now for my outfit,

Daisy Top (Cotton On)  | Jeans (Cotton On) | Sandals (Charles & Keith) | Watch (Japan)

On the way to the museum,

This really caught my attention. It's so nice and I was lucky enough to be able to find the right angle HEHE.

Ticket that can be reused as a bookmark, so smart!

From this point onwards, all you will see is 3D wall art and us (just having fun in our weird ways LOL)

The mini sculptures were nicely done with such details! This calls for credits.

My mom wanted to take this picture to ask my dad if he was sad when he had to cut his hair HAHA.

Adorable snake, really, and you don't have to worry if it bites or not.

Save me!

Coffee anyone?

L: Work you peasants.

Why am I the only one that looked tortured.

The address for the interactive museum,

No. 3, Pengkalan Weld, George Town, Penang.
Opening Hours :
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Daily
But they close slightly later on public holidays!

That's the end of our moments and now, for tea time! We went to this famous stall/shop that sells really good cendol (if I remembered correctly, the cendol was from an outside stall and if you want to bring in to the shop, you need to pay extra few cents) and asam laksa. If I'm not mistaken, the shop name is Joo Hooi. Here's the address,

Joo Hooi
Lebuh Keng Kwee
The shop is right next to a lorong
but you can miss it because it's full
of people standing there eating.

Really good Cendol.

Asam Laksa

My aunt called it sing gam kah or something (don't try to say it to them I'm afraid you might fail terribly) but just to be sure it's lime juice.

Fried Kuay Teow!

That's how we ended our afternoon. Proceeded back to the hotel, rest, shower and now. For dinner! We had lok lok at some hawker stall and I forgot to take down the address & location (lol fail blogger so sorry)!

These were really good Lok Lok no joke. They have snails too like whattt HAHA.

My sisters and me,

Here's something really good.

Really superly duperly good fried oyster egg!

Penang White Curry yums! Taste nothing like their instant noodles.

Takoyaki HAHA. Takoyaki was not famous there or anything, it's just my younger saw it and she wanted to eat it so yeah we got it LOL.

That sums up my first day at Penang so stay tuned for Day 2, until then! xx.
