Lighting On Point

When lighting plays a crucial role in taking selfies, this calls for..

a Selfie Ring Light!

I've came across pictures of this selfie ring light before and I was like, I NEED TO GET THIS.

But I never really know where to get it. Until recently (few months ago), my brilliant sister found an online website that sells this type of ring light!! Immediately, I started a fundraising campaign in my house to collect fund for this ring light HAHAHA.

Blessed to have sisters that often fall for my tricks and gimmicks HAHAHAHA jk I love you guys. Please continue to fund me #buaypaiseh

Anyway, I've decided to make a review video for this product just for you guys! Mainly because I think a video does more justice to the ring light compare to pictures and so that you guys would be able to judge better if you want to get one yourself.

Though the process of making this video is... ha ha ha. #dreadful #almostdied

If you guys think making a video is easy, trust me, it was not easyyy. I used to think that it wasn't that hard but damn its challenging omg.

I had to do like 2574920475 retakes because I'm such a potato and let's not start on the closing part. It took me another 1 month just to figure that out like omg pls.

Thank god I have a sister with god-like eyes and some friends to help me with my video if not, you guys would probably be able to watch it like... next year LOL.

Alas, here's the video made with my blood and sweat!!

Let me know what you think!

CLEO x ZA Beauty Workshop

Bonjour readers. After so long, today, I'm able to share with you about my long overdue workshop-event that I went to. If you guys read Cleo Magazine, you would probably come across this page:

When I saw this, I was thinking - why not right? It would be fun, venue isn't that far and not to forget the yellow bubble saying, "participants will get door gift worth RM100"!! #ahpoattitude. Like come on, who doesn't like free stuff? (Okay, technically I paid to enter this workshop but if we take RM100 - the amount I pay for my share = RM73 worth of free gifts!) Not to mention, They gave us "couple package" which allows you to bring a partner at a cheaper cost yay! LOLOL.

I guess for me it's worth it because it gives me exposure to meet new people and enjoy myself. Plus, I have been trying to put myself out there and get out of my comfort zone. One step at a time!

Back to the event - Basically this event is like all other workshops. They guide you on how to use their product and show you the right way to massage your face, etc etc. Our speaker for the day came all the way from Japan Shiseido!

Did you know that ZA products are actually under Shiseido? Wow. I didn't know that. It seems that ZA products are sold not only in Malaysia, but also in Thailand and Tokyo. (I used to think it was a local brand.)

Pictures for the day:

I think what really caught my attention was their lipsticks. I did some sourcing for lipstick before and it seems quite okay.

Our Japanese speaker: Megumi Mitsui.

This is picture is where our speaker was selecting a lucky girl, Sherwyn (left) from our table to be her model on stage.

Here's a poop size mask:

that is actually the size of your face HAHA.

Sleeping mask face HAHAHAHHA.

One of their product that they free gift to us by plastering it under our chair. (Quite smart ah, save the trouble of passing one to each of us and you can be like "SURPRISE!")

Compact Powder.

Blusher.

Eyeshadows.

If you're wondering, no. We are not given the privilage to take all the make-up stuff home HAHAHA. I know all your aunty attitude okay, I also secretly wishing I could take back.

At the end of the event, here's a few friends that I made - missing 2 bloggers which went home early.

A picture with our speaker, Megumi! She looks super young and adorable. (it's the Japanese genes, must have run in the family or as the matter of fact, probably the whole society.) Sometimes I don't understand how they can have the HUGE heart of effort to get up everyday and make sure they are pretty enough to leave the house. Me no can do. Me iz slavez to SLEEPZ.

I mean, the best I can do is putting lip balm (that is if I remember) so I don't look like some zombie that just crawled out from bed.

Finally, just some absurd photos of me and a nice one of my sister hehe.

Want to know what did we get for the door gift?

Ta-Daa!

They gave us a really cute pink sticky note with a book and some ZA products. Yayy! Actually right, the only thing I want the most is their lipstick HAHAHA. But pink sticky note and all is cute too.

I tested the colour and it look like this: -

A natural look with a tad of tint.

My personal opinion of the ZA product:
  1. Their liquid eyeliner are easily smudge so it's kind of hard for me an amateur at make-up to use.
  2. Their lipstick is so far so good, mascara so-so. I don't really know how to differentiate which is a good brand of mascara and which is not, yet.
  3. Their eyeshadows colour are so-so, nothing too funky and overall it would be easy to use it.

Though, their beauty workshop did teach us how to finally apply a smokey eye effect! Hopefully this skilled learn does not go to waste or forgotten.

Okay, that's all for now. Au revoir, xx.

A productive week

Today's adventure are about all the productive things that I did during the whole week! Just wanted to share some of my achievements with you guys because I think I did pretty well in it hehehhe. I hope it would help you too if you're planning to do anything like mine.

First thing that I did was reorganising my wardrobe HAHA. #girlsproblem #toomuchstuff  I made something to help with my accessories that have been lying everywhere in my cupboard.

A ribbon notice board, but in this case, an accessories board.

I got this idea when I saw my cousin's sister's brother-in-law's room (HAHAHA now that's some long extended family line thing), he made a ribbon board just like this except, his one was definitely nicer. I thought this would be a good idea for accessories, especially if you're hanging the board in your wardrobe, normal cork boards are at risk with push-pins. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't want to get prick on push pins when looking for clothes. *yikes!

I really hope you find this picture super useful LOL, because I couldn't get any visual when I was trying to make this ribbon board! You can make this from old photo frames or window panel, which ever that looks good. Be creative!

Besides that, my sister found something useful at Daiso and decided to give it a try since we need more space for my wardrobe. It's something that helps you to hang more stuff in one line.(technically seen as aligned) There are many tricks to this method but I didn't like how the thing look after that so I was like ew when my sister introduced it to me HAHAHAHA. Now, it's a life-saviour!

So neat and cute right?? It's so different from the other tricks like:

Daiso also have something like the last picture.

Okay, not to offend anyone that uses this type of method, I'm pretty sure it helps a lot and also save cost but it is just not my preferences. I mean, they don't look that neat plus, it looks horrifying to me T___T I guess some of you would feel that there isn't much differences compare to mine but yeah. I mind ok.

Another hanger that my sister found for skirts are:

This is really cute & neat! You can find all your skirts and you don't have to fold them over hangers which makes your closet look so bulky and congested. I recommend this for all formal skirts owners!! Daiso sells both the brown and this hanger in pair for RM 5, now including GST RM 5.30.

The next thing is like da BOMB. When I saw it in Daiso, it got me so excited I was jumping already hahaha.

It's a NAIL THINNER. You know, when your nail polish starts to thicken and it's like full bottle or so which is a waste because if it's thicken you can't use it. FRET NOT! This magical baby is here to save the day. HEHEHHEHE. Do you love the name of it? I did. It was a miracle because I have been looking everywhere for this.

I added the white wire thing, in case you're wondering why it look ugly or what's that ugly white thing LOL. I want to make sure I wouldn't lost the squeezer so this is the best/effective way to prevent so.

How to apply it:

1. Go ransack through all your nail polish and find those that are old and thicken, bring them out for experiment!

Thick/Used to be thicken, but in this picture I had already add the thinner. (forget to take picture heheh)

2. Add sufficient amount of thinner into your nail polish and mix them thoroughly.

Sometimes, you need to add A LOT of thinner for the nail polish to return to it's original state (when you first bought it). I tried on my OPI based coat and yeap, used a lot of thinner haha.

3. Best serve when ready! hahaha

Kiss goodbye to all your worries about thick nail polish heheheh.

Next up, I decided to give a new look to my sister's jeans since she has 2 of the same kind so here you go:

I ripped it HAHA. Honestly, it's quite hard for black jeans because everything is so black it makes it harder to cut in a straight line. Overall, I made it and got a new look for the jeans. You can learn this DIY from anywhere, just google it or go youtube.

Ripped jeans works well with anything casual, and it also enhanced your look to a more street kind of look. It's worth trying if you like that kind of look. :)

During the week, I also went shopping at several places and got this white knitted sweater from Cotton On at RM30! I love it because I used to have a pink one but made a silly mistake and gave it away. Super regretting it now. T__T

Anyhow, there's 2 way you can wear this knitted sweater:

Off-shoulder, like a beggy pullover.

OR

with a deep V neck.

Both give different kind of look, so depends on which on you're going for. I like both it's so hard to decide OMG hahahaha.

Finally, the last & glorious achievement of mine was this top that I made FROM SCRATCH! HAHAHAHAHA. Sorry, but it's my first time really putting my 100% in DIY-ing my own top so it's really overwhelming for me when it came out as a success.

Of course, the first time I made it, there was some error which was really disappointing because it's a little tight and the material from my old t-shirt has lost it's elasticity. I asked my mum about it and we decided to go buy new cloth for my top yay!

My second time making this top. I love the colour HAHAHA. I admit it really consumes a lot of time compare to the DIY videos that we watch - like those are 15 minutes and I took probably 3 - 4 hours making this top. THIS BARE BACK TOP. Imagine if I have to make a full t-shirt or a dress. Maybe 1 whole day wouldn't be enough for me LOL.

Don't let that stop you from trying though, hehe. I am considering on making another one but without the bare back because I doubt I would find an occasion to wear it out LOL.

That's all for my productive week, I'd like to hear yours too. Let me know what you guys think of my accomplishments and feel free to share your story in comments below!

Until next time, xx.

A little tint

SO, I suddenly had a great topic to blog about which I somehow thought of it... when I was cleaning my room half way HAHAHA. (Finding ways to avoid cleaning my room.) Do you know when you want to go out with your girls and all of them is beautifying themselves but you are just TOO LAZY to do anything? Don't fret, Lipstick's here to save the day!

I realise that I often use lipstick/lipice/lipgloss/lipbalm/whateverlipthing whenever I feel like dolling up for a bit or when I'm going out with my friends. Maybe this is because I like to keep a natural look! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing with make up when I have the mood to.

Here are a few types of lipstick/balm/gloss/ice that I have!

This is my utmost favourite Baby Pink Lipice. I don't know why the picture doesn't do justice to my lip colour but the colour is darker than a baby pink is. I love this lipice x10000 because not only did it give my lip a smooth look but it also enhance my overall look!

I think it's the lighting.... that's why it's not very obvious.

Next, a hot pink colour. A friend of mine gave it to me and the colour is nice! It's more obvious than my baby pink and also gives me a different kind of look.

Hot pink (check.)

This is my sister's favourite. This lipstick/balm can give your lips a thick and sexy look (I think) because it is watery and if you put more, it makes your lips look thick!

Except in pictures I guess.......

Yay we reached this colour! This lipstick is from bodyshop. I loveee the colour! It's dark red but sometimes when you take picture, the colour look pinkish red which is pretty if not you will have a Gothic look. I used this for my flower crown pictures.

For this lighting, it looks dark red! I think if your lipstick colour is red or dark red, it's better to maybe draw your eyebrow. If not your face may look imba LOL.

Glass lipgloss. So pretty, this is a super natural look. This lipgloss makes your lips shiny, glassy and natural! I suggest this to all "natural lover looking" out there.

Can you see the difference? Hehehe.

I think the lighting today was directly on my face maybe that's why nothing looks obvious. Haih. Anyhow, did you see the difference? With just a little tint on your lips can enhance your overall look! Next time if you're looking a bit pale or going out with some gorgeous looking friends, just put a lipstick of your choice and there you go! Looking fabulous. I hope you find this informative and interesting as I did hahahhaa.

Let me know what are your most favourite lipstick colour! See you guys soon, xx.
