Penang, Day 3

On the day 3 of Penang trip, we went to "Bukit Bendera" or known as Penang Hill. There was a quote stated that "You haven't been to Penang unless you been to Penang Hill". Now, I can officially say that I have been to Penang HAHA!

SO, for breakfast we ate at some local hawker stall nearby a school in Bayan Lepas which has some really good food there.

Porridge.

Loh Mee.

Char Kuay Teow.

Curry Mee.

After that, we (mainly just my uncle) drove to Penang Hill where we would take a tramp up to Penang Hill. There's two way up to Penang Hill, either you hike or take a tramp so we were unfit to hike which eventually leads us to taking the tramp. This was my first time going to Penang Hill!

Kek Lok Si Temple view from below.

In the tramp!

Passion Fruit planted over a bench which was creative!

Top of Penang Hill!

Some pretty shots I took at Penang Hill and finally,

The overall view. Pretty isn't it?

That's pretty much all we did that day and went for lunch and start our journey back home.

Besides that, I tried a Korean restaurant somewhere near Sunway which was really good but I didn't take any pictures. Don't fret! I visited the restaurant again and this time I got pictures!!

Tune in for my next post! xx.

Penang, Day 2

HELLO Penang, Day 2. That morning we were supposed to go Penang Hill but my aunt was late so they postponed it to tomorrow (Day 3) and we had some time to wander around in our "neighbourhood". If I'm not mistaken, because that's where we were staying and it's temporarily our neighbourhood right?

Our home stay had this mini balcony which was a great spot for pictures so.. HEHE.

Several top ootd in one picture! `I have no idea why but my face ALWAYS look bloated in the morning. #canthisbeanysadder.

Details.

And our sister selfie!

This picture would be really nice if it's not overly exposed, this is the best I could do to save though. HAHA.

OOTD : Lace Top | Shorts | Red Vans | Customize Flower Necklace | Watch

A nearby temple that we visited.

I really love this artistic design carved on the wall of the temple, I mean, just look at the details.

Randomly taking picture outside of people's shop/house.

During our journey wandering in the neighbourhood, we came across a man selling pao (steam bun).

And a stranger that spontaneously took picture with my sisters!

We had "Har Mee" (also known as prawn mee) which was delicious and also the reason why my aunt was late because the queue was really, really long. However, it was worth the wait because this was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S.

After breakfast, we decided to go for a tour at the Blue Mansion also known as Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and we marched from our house to the Blue Mansion which was just around the corner about 5 minutes walk.

And here's a picture of my sister trying to whistle LOL.

Blue Mansion ;

Okay, so what's the big deal about this Blue Mansion? This Blue Mansion was the legacy of Cheong Fatt Tze. He was just a small businessman when he first came to Jakarta and his business was really successful that he became one of the riches man in Asia. (if I remember correctly that also had 8 wives like wow.) The tour guide explained how this house was build based on Chinese Feng Shui which was really amusing, not to forget their unique architecture.

Coin shaped drain hole.

Here was the most amusing Feng Shui part of the house where the middle of the house was an open air spot which they placed 2 bonsai potted plants in the middle. This house was build in a way that during rainy days, water from the side roof will come through the coin shaped drain hole and flood the middle part for about an inch before flowing out.

In other words, it's saying that there's always money flowing into the house and slowly going out means you will have lots of money! We were lucky enough to be able to see the flood.

Do you get what I mean?

Other than that, here were some of their antique stuff.

The details of the ceiling.

Special ceramic bowls.

This ceramic bowls looks like those normal Chinese "chicken design" bowl we had but their purposes were different. This ceramic bowls were made for a purpose which was to chip and collaged into a design like this.

So much hard work required but this was really impressive. You can see them from the exterior part of the house.

Cheong Fatt Tze's Will saying that he changed his will because his children were so lazy to work so in this will, he stated that they are not allowed to sell the house until the last of his children passed away.

This was another small detail that you may overlook,

Windows with the open/close design based on Yin and Yang.

Do you see the resembles?

The Blue Mansion was not only a Historical spot but half of it was converted into a hotel or home stay rented out to tourist.

A picture with a super big mirror.

Candy!

`Postcard shots HEHE.

And that was the end of our tour. Here's the address for the Blue Mansion :

No. 14, Lebuh Leith,
10200 Georgetown,
Pulau Pinang.
Contact no : 04- 262 0006

For lunch, we had crabs on Johor man-made island which was not in google map so I can't get the address out for you but on the way here, we passed Quay Straits if that helps. Everything there was delicious.

I FOUND MY LONG LOST FRIEND.

Do I look like my friend? HAHA.

Fried Squid.

Cockles.

Grilled Crab. Absolutely yummy!

Salted Prawns.

Coconut Drink.

Fried Mee Hoon.

Sang Yuk Kuay Teow Mee. (I think)

Lime Juice, which tasted way better than the previous one because it was less sour and more sweet.

My adorable aunt being a little dramatic by the sea side HAHA.

After Lunch, we went to visit Hard Rock Hotel.

`I'm a rock star!

With my adorable mum! Fyi, I wasn't pointing a middle finger. It was supposed to be a peace but apparently part of my face ate the other finger LOL.

The view on the way down from Hard Rock Hotel.

The next spot we went was Quay Straits. So basically Quay Straits are known for their yacht port and we all know that yacht are really expensive so that equals to rich people and yeah that place is known for rich people and the magnificent view of the yacht.

Do you feel fresher now? HAHA.

Mostly all the places I went in Penang had this bicycle rental service where you can rent bicycle per hour or per 4 hour to cycle around that area.

Papparich for Tea.

Coffee Jelly.

Root Beer.

Lychee Cincau.

Latte.

Banana Split.

Curry Chicken and Bread.

Finally for dinner, we ate some really good porridge at :

Facing the main road of
Jalan Tun Dr Awang,
Bukit Jambul.

I forgotten the name of the restaurant but I hope you are able to find it!

Fish Porridge.

Chrysanthemum Tea.

Seafood Porridge.

And some really tasty chilli to accompany your porridge.

Hands down, that is the best FISH/SEAFOOD porridge I have ever eaten before. It was so delicious and the pot was really big so we all stuffed ourself to finish it. Each of us ate approximately 4 bowls of porridge.

That was all for Day 2. Stay tuned for Day 3, xx.
